We've already taken the bold (for us) stance that Twitter can be actually useful. Now Wired comes along and suggests it can actually do something else—serve as a fresh searching pool for new music.

Wired's Epicenter blog gives props to two dedicated tweet/MP3 mashups: Twisten.fm and Musebin.ws, both of which provide streaming players for the MP3s Twitterers link to through services like Grooveshark, Last.fm, and others. But the Epicenter really does the yeoman's work by compiling all the best searches terms you can toss into search.twitter.com to pull up results right quick. Ranging from the more general #musicmonday hash tag to the specific stream-finding tactics of searching for hypem, imeem, twisten.fm, and other music-loving blogs along with specific music you're looking for. Between random encounters and specific artists, Twitter's looking like a pretty rich resource for varying up your listening habits.

Got another resource for harnessing the "breakfast menu" service into a playlist provider? Tell us about it in the comments.
