Police arrest 48 suspects, members of a Oaxacan Indian clan, who allegedly brought the drugs in from Mexico, selling 15 to 20 pounds a week to gangs in East Los Angeles. For two decades, a Oaxacan Indian family allegedly ran an international drug ring that smuggled heroin through Tijuana into Southern California, generating millions of dollars in profit that returned to Mexico.
